Halloween Parade at Celebration Kids

Audrey, Sophia, Dahlia, Amelie, Kaia and Sara are excited for the parade.  Audrey was the only girl not dressed up as a princess. I love my little Jessie!

Audrey is such a big girl this Halloween.  I am still trying to get her to say "It's you!  It's you!  It's you!  It's you! It's you!"  If you don't know that I am referring to I suggest watching Toy Story 2.  It is a great movie, and we love it.  I will try to get a shot with Audrey and her Jessie doll tonight.
Olivia loves her dragon costume.  I finished her hood just a few hours before the parade. She was ready and waiting for it when Joe and I showed up at CK. Teacher Chris was very surprised that Olivia did not want to share her costume. This was his first experience with the Olivia that Joe and I see on a  daily basis.
This was the best shot that we got of Olivia.  I hope to get some good ones tonight.

Audrey and Sara are patiently waiting for the "trick or treat-ing" to begin.

After the parade Room 6 had a Spooky Food themed party.  Audrey ate monster toes, frozen eye balls and rotten apple punch.  Teacher Melissa & Teacher Bernie know how to throw a good monster party.
Cheers!  Rotten apple punch is yummy!

Halloween 2010

Audrey and Olivia experienced their first taste of trick or treating this Halloween. They loved their orange plastic pumpkins and all of the candy that they collected inside.
By the end of the night daddy had a girl on each arm and was practically dragging them home.
Running from house to house made Olivia a very tired little girl.

This is a photo of Audrey, Olivia and daddy hitting the first house of the evening.
Audrey was so well behaved.  She has a wonderful time with her friends.
Audrey and Lilly each wore their Snow White costumes.  Snow White seems to be the favorite princess among all of her friends.
The neighborhood of Sparr Heights was the happening spot.  The street became very crowded and we decided to make our escape quickly.
Running away, keeping the candy tight in her hand.  Olivia was her normal spunky self!
Cheese!
Before we went trick or treating, Audrey went to a birthday party to celebrate Jason's 3rd birthday.
After the fisrt party the entire family loaded up and drove over to the Jensen's new home and celebrated Eli's first birthday.  Happy Birthday Eli!!!
Audrey, Ashley, Amelie and Lily in their princess hide out.
Audrey looking like a little lady!
The gang before the big event of the night.
Before Halloween could begin, pumpkins needed to be carved and decorated.
Olivia and her cool aid smile

Mommy and daddy did all of the carving, and yes I forgot to get a shot of the finished jack o lantern!

Olivia loved drawing all over the pumpkins.  She really enjoyed choosing all of the different colors and putting the tip of the marker in her mouth.  Go Olivia!
And finally the last picture of this post.  This image represents the first time that the girls both received a time out for their mischief!

We took this photo this past weekend. This is our first family photo that we have taken in a year. In our back yard with the self timer on my camera I was able to snap this in under 2 minute.
Audrey had her first dance lesson this weekend.  She was very excited to dress up and dance like ballerina's.  She did very well for her first class, she did not run out!
She has several friends in her class...some from school and some great friends that she does not see as much now that mama is back at work.
Olivia had fun at dance class too!  She got to hang with daddy and dance along to the modern music that came from the class next door.  It was a great family morning.

Two Smiling Girls...Finally

Audrey's school wrapped up their summer program this week.   Tuesday was backwards day, Wednesday was pajama day and Thursday was costume day. Audrey was very excited to dress up as Snow White (again) and I was happy that her costume still fit her.  She looked so happy before going to school that I had to snap a picture.  The next thing I know Olivia walked on over and wanted to pose with here sister.  This is the first picture that I have of the two girls standing up next to each other.  TOO CUTE. I am sure you noticed that Olivia is toting her baby doll- still.

Last night as I was putting Audrey to bed I saw Olivia in this pose.  It did not look too comfortable, but so cute I had to take a picture.

Audrey turns 3 years old

Yes, Audrey is now 3 and I cannot believe how quickly time has flown by. Audrey was tall (Joe cannot remember the exact height as I am typing) when she went to the doctor for her 3 year well visit.  She was in the 90% percentile for height and head circuference and 70% for weight at 34 lbs.  She has beautiful long brown hair that had grown in in the last year and is perfect in every way. This year we celebrated her birthday with a princess party.
Audrey was excited to dress up as princess Aurora (all in pink). We celebrated with family, and friends from the neighborhood and Audrey's school.

Here is the birthday girl in action!
I found a pink care bear pinata at the local hispanic party store. It was a little bit too sturdy, but thanks to Ryan and some help from Alex the bear finally broke.

Everyone found good treats on the grass, even Olivia!
Yes, I made her put the shoes back. We also had a jumper in the back yard for the kiddos to jump out all of their extra energy.
Audrey has a very pretty Mermaid Cake that Joe picked out for her at Porto's Bakery.  It was not as tasty as Dorie's cake, but it hit the spot.
Audrey was sitting very patiently for her cake after blowing out the candles.
Yes,  this is the best family photo of the evening. Thanks Jen!
Here is a shot of Audrey and all of her friends in a deep discussion waiting for cake to be served.  They are so cute growing up, being able to carry on a conversation. This was a first!
Finally cake was served!
Olivia was enjoying herself...seriously!

a fork, knife and a pair of shoes

Yes...my little girl, my baby has decided that she needs to eat with a spoon and a fork. She really loves feeding herself with utencils.  This happened over the past week and she is very good at it surprisingly.  But with that said by no means is she a clean and tidy eater.

Although this picture shows the spoon in her right hand, she tends to favor her left.

Lately Audrey has been walking around the house wearing my shoes.  She has been doing it for months and it has always been pretty funny unless she fell and hurt herself.  The other evening Joe snapped this photo while I was out with a friend. Audrey helped herself into my bedroom and slipped on a camisole top.  Joe found her trying to open the front door to find me.  Pretty cute!

The best thing of the past month by far is Audrey's huge milestone...saying good-bye to diapers!  Yes, she finally did it!  All it took was a huge bribe from mommy and daddy.  Here Audrey is posing with her new kitchen while trying on her flower girl dress for my brothers wedding.  She reminds me of a 50's housewife!

Fun times in February

The past month has been a whirl wind. At least one of the girls was sick every day in the month of February!  But we still managed to have some fun in between the coughing, sneezing and all of the rain!  Olivia is now 10.5 months old and will be celebrating her first birthday soon!  Audrey is now acting like the typical 2.5 year old.  Some days are better than others....  Audrey drives me crazy, but is too cute at the same time. She enjoys playing at the park, singing ring and the rosy, and is beginning to play house with her dolls.  Olivia is so different from her older sister in so many ways that I look forward to what she can do tomorrow.  She is getting 6 teeth in at the moment!!  A big girl now she is sleeping in her crib with her sister all night long. It felt great to pack up the crib that was living in our front room for the past 10 months.  Joe and I have a bet going on weather Olivia will be walking by her first birthday.  I think she will be!

Last weekend we went to the Huntington Gardens in San Marino. It is a large, beautiful open landscape  where Audrey can run around and explore the great outdoors.  She loves the Chinese gardens where the ducks, and koi fish live.  Here is a picture of Olivia that I took while we were enjoying the sun playing on the grass

Here is a picture of my two princesses!  Audrey insisted that they both dress up last week.  Audrey enjoyed playing music on her jukebox and began dancing around with mommy and daddy.  Olivia tried to join in but will need to wait a month or two until she is standing on her own.

A ham for the camera, Olivia is so much fun!

Audrey went outside to play in the rain. She ended up pretty wet and dirty, earning a ticket straight into the bath tub.

Olivia has decided this past month that she enjoys eating  food straight off the table.  No more "baby" food for her!  On Saturday night she enjoyed a meal of homemade chicken enchiladas that her daddy made.  Yummy!

Here is proof that Audrey is a happy girl and she does smile!!!
