Two Smiling Girls...Finally

Audrey's school wrapped up their summer program this week.   Tuesday was backwards day, Wednesday was pajama day and Thursday was costume day. Audrey was very excited to dress up as Snow White (again) and I was happy that her costume still fit her.  She looked so happy before going to school that I had to snap a picture.  The next thing I know Olivia walked on over and wanted to pose with here sister.  This is the first picture that I have of the two girls standing up next to each other.  TOO CUTE. I am sure you noticed that Olivia is toting her baby doll- still.

Last night as I was putting Audrey to bed I saw Olivia in this pose.  It did not look too comfortable, but so cute I had to take a picture.

Time for the dentist

Audrey had her fist visit to the dentist yesterday.  We both had a very nice morning, I am very proud of her. First we walked in and Audrey got to check out the waiting room and the big fish tank with a big fish that she quickly called Mama. After we were called into the room, the assistant let Audrey chose a video to watch and sat her down next to the big dentist chair where she could watch me get my teetch cleaned and x-rayed.She was also able to look into the garden and watch the 2 dogs run around, talk about heaven.  She sat very quietlye while I got my check-up and it soon was her turn.
At first Audrey was not 100% sure about getting into the big chair, but after she discovered that she could still watch tv, she had no problem at all.  She opened up for the dentist and was pleased when they cleaned her teeth with a pink polishing brush. Audrey even worked with Dr. Mary Chess and closed her lips around the suction.  She said that it felt funny.
After her cleaning session Audrey has flouride painted on her teeth to help protect them from the "sugar bugs" she got to pick a toy from the chest and we were finished.  The trip to the dentist was a success!

Olivia and her babies

Olivia is growing up so quickly!  She is such a different little girl than her sister Audrey.  Olivia loves to brush her hair and she walks around with a purse on her shoulder. Yes, she is walking everywhere now.  She is now beginning to talk to us all of the time and her favorite word is baby.  She points to babies all around her, and tonight she patted my back and called me a baby.

Joe and I noticed her obsession with dolls a few weeks ago and we made a trip to toys r us and picked out 2 princess dolls, one for each child and a stroller for Olivia to push around the house.  Fast forward to this past weekend. I pulled out every doll that Audrey and Olivia were ever given, washed them and put on all of their clothes that Audrey pulls off way to quickly.  Olivia now has 2 dolls that will not leave her sight and she loves to feed them and carry them around.  She would like to put them in the bath and feed them her dinner but Joe and I have to draw the line somewhere.  I hope to get a picture soon.

Olivia also has a new favorite past time that she discovered at school...dancing.  Here is a video of her showing us her moves at lunch time a few weeks ago. I have the new iphone that everyone is complaining about, even me.  But I have to admit that the video feature is really nice. I hope to begin posting video on a regular basis.

Family Fun

I found the photo booth app on my computer.  It was fun to take silly pictures as a family.  We have been having so much fun lately watching the girls play together...best friends in the making (I hope)

Joe's thoughts from December 2008

"Our hopes and dreams for Audrey are that she has the strength to embark on her own path, insight to find beauty in those around her, passion to share her talents, confidence to stay true to beliefs and always know the boundless love that lies at home."

Good Times

The Ward family has been having fun this summer. Here are some pictures that we have taken on several different occasions.
Olivia was having a blast at Eagle Rock Rec Center.  She loves the swings!
We went to San Diego at the end of July to visit our friends who were out on vacation from Detroit.  Audrey was in a great mood that day and gave me this crazy smile.
We spent the morning at Scripps Aquarium in La Jolla, it was beautiful.
The three girls were never really in sync, but there is a picture (the best one) of all of them; Julia, Audrey and Olivia.
Joe and Olivia  take a minuite to pose for a picture.
I think it was funny face day for Audrey.  ha!

The girls loves looking up into the big tank.
Julia likes looking cool for the camera

Another day, another adventure....BATH TIME!
It is Olivia's favorite time of the day!
Audrey usually has a great time too.  Unless it is time to wash her hair.
Last night after bath time Olivia was posing inside the otttoman

Olivia is so proud of herself lately for finding her belly button.  It is the highlight of my night after a long day at work.

Audrey turns 3 years old

Yes, Audrey is now 3 and I cannot believe how quickly time has flown by. Audrey was tall (Joe cannot remember the exact height as I am typing) when she went to the doctor for her 3 year well visit.  She was in the 90% percentile for height and head circuference and 70% for weight at 34 lbs.  She has beautiful long brown hair that had grown in in the last year and is perfect in every way. This year we celebrated her birthday with a princess party.
Audrey was excited to dress up as princess Aurora (all in pink). We celebrated with family, and friends from the neighborhood and Audrey's school.

Here is the birthday girl in action!
I found a pink care bear pinata at the local hispanic party store. It was a little bit too sturdy, but thanks to Ryan and some help from Alex the bear finally broke.

Everyone found good treats on the grass, even Olivia!
Yes, I made her put the shoes back. We also had a jumper in the back yard for the kiddos to jump out all of their extra energy.
Audrey has a very pretty Mermaid Cake that Joe picked out for her at Porto's Bakery.  It was not as tasty as Dorie's cake, but it hit the spot.
Audrey was sitting very patiently for her cake after blowing out the candles.
Yes,  this is the best family photo of the evening. Thanks Jen!
Here is a shot of Audrey and all of her friends in a deep discussion waiting for cake to be served.  They are so cute growing up, being able to carry on a conversation. This was a first!
Finally cake was served!
Olivia was enjoying herself...seriously!
